Job Description
Watsonians Rugby Club in Edinburgh. We’re building a team of volunteers to help lead our digital channels for the upcoming season. I saw that Edinburgh College has a course that is very relevant and thought this opportunity may provide great experience and build a portfolio. The below is directed towards people in that course.
It’s a volunteer role, so whether you’re looking to gain hands-on experience for your CV, build your portfolio, or simply love sport and want to get involved with a well-established local club, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll work alongside other volunteers (players and non-players), the club board, including the President and Head of Operations, our external agency Four PR, and others across the club.
There’s plenty of freedom to bring fresh ideas to the table, shape how the club looks and feels online, and help us connect with our local community. If you have an idea, we’ll help you run with it.
We’re currently finalising our club’s digital strategy, but the team’s responsibilities are likely to include:
* Pre-, live and post-match coverage, including photography, video and reporting
* Email marketing
* Planning and creating social media content, including matches, players, coaches, training and more
* Highlighting club and player sponsors
* Supporting club events and building an online presence to drive attendance
* Managing content across our social media platforms and website
* Helping build and launch a brand-new club website to increase supporter engagement
We’re not limited to the above and are very open to fresh ideas from our growing media and marketing team. Whether you want to focus on a specific area or gain experience across multiple areas, it would be great to have you involved.
You don’t need a formal marketing background, just a good eye for content, enthusiasm and an interest in helping the club grow.
