Retail Service Manager on board - Cross Country Trains
Job Description
A brief job description – the role we are recruiting for is the post of Retail Service Manager on board our trains. The role is essentially carrying out the catering service on board. We use an at seat trolley service (no buffet or shop) similar to the airlines and serve snacks and drinks to all customers in our standard and first class coaches. We also expect our team to carry out high levels of customer service, supporting the Train Manager on board when required during disruption. The role involves working as part of a team of 2/3 people. There is a 4 week training course where any successful candidates would have to be able to stay in Derby at our training base and all uniform is provided. CrossCountry is an Intercity Train Operator and serve every major city in the UK with the exception of London. Our head office is in Brimingham. We employ over 3000 staff.
Salary/wages – Salary is £31,372 based on a 35 hours per week however staff are rostered 37 hours every week so there is guaranteed overtime of 2 hours per week. All staff are entitled to 35 days AL per year (starts off at 30 days and increases 1 day per year of service until 5 years is completed). Free travel on all XC trains and 75% off all other train companies tickets.
Full/part/flexible time – all positions are Full Time and involve weekend working and shift working. At present the earliest start of shift is 05:00 and latest finish is 00:30.
