About the Role
Shore Hotel is a newly refurbished, independently run 5-bedroom hotel situated just off the NC500 in the coastal village of Balintore. With a 50-cover restaurant, 30-cover bar, seasonal outdoor seating and takeaway offering, our focus is on delivering fresh, high-quality dishes from land and sea.
We pride ourselves on using produce from our own farm just two miles away alongside locally landed seafood from the harbour across the road. Our kitchen is built around seasonality, provenance and telling the story behind every dish we serve.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare, cook and present high-quality dishes
· Support or lead daily kitchen operations and service
· Contribute to seasonal menu development
· Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards
· Manage stock control, ordering and deliveries
· Ensure consistency, quality and portion control
· Support and develop junior team members
· Work closely with management to ensure smooth service
· Champion the story and provenance of local ingredients
Skills & Experience
· Experience in a similar role (Head Chef or Sous Chef level)
· Strong leadership and team management skills
· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
· Excellent communication and organisational skills
· Knowledge of food safety and kitchen systems
· Passion for local produce and seasonal cooking
Working Hours
· Full-time position
· Shift-based, including evenings and weekends
