SAAS to host online funding events
The Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) is putting on a series of online events aimed at offering support to prospective students and their parents and carers starting College or University in 2027/28.
Parent and Carers Funding Talks
SAAS will be delivering online funding talks which are designed specifically for the parents & carers of prospective higher education students. These sessions will be running on the evenings of 13 and 15 October 2026 via MS Teams. Attendees do not need an MS Teams account to join. These sessions will:
- explain the funding available from SAAS to the parents/carers of those planning to undertake higher education courses (HNC/HND/Degree courses)
- highlight the information we require regarding household income details required from parents and carers
- provide information on the repayment of student loans; and
- provide direct access to a funding awareness advisor who can assist with specific or general queries you may have regarding SAAS
Care Experienced Student Funding Talks
We will also be delivering online an funding talk which is designed specifically for prospective higher education students who are Care Experienced. These sessions will be held on 8 October 2026 via MS Teams. Attendees don’t need an MS Teams account to join. These interactive workshops will:
- explain the funding available from SAAS for those planning to undertake higher education courses (HNC/HND/Degree courses); and
