Important update on council tax exemption
Edinburgh College has been aware of an issue facing some full-time students living in Edinburgh seeking council tax exemption. This issue has now been resolved and the City of Edinburgh Council has confirmed that they consider our full-time students as full time under Council Tax legislation, meaning they are eligible for council tax exemption.
The council are now revisiting current applications and those that are under appeal. The College has also provided the council with a list of all of the students we believe may have been impacted. If you have been refused council tax exemption or you think you may be entitled to council tax exemption and you live in Edinburgh, please contact studentcounciltax@edinburgh.gov.uk directly.
